Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 26, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how LiveInterp collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our mobile app, website, and related services.

Information we collect

When you create an account with an email address and password, we store your email address, an Argon2id hashed version of your password, and the language selected during login. We do not store your plain text password.

When you sign in with Google, we store the email address, display name, provider account ID, and login language received during the sign-in flow.

Purchases and credits

Mobile payments are handled through Apple App Store or Google Play in-app purchases and RevenueCat. We do not receive or store card numbers, bank account details, Apple ID, Google account details, billing addresses, or other raw payment method details.

For purchases, we send RevenueCat our internal user ID as the RevenueCat App User ID, together with purchase or restore requests for the credit product live_interp_1_credit_1. We do not currently send RevenueCat your email address, display name, phone number, push token, custom customer attributes, or advertising or device identifiers from our app code.

In our backend, we store the purchase data needed to grant and refund credits. This includes user ID, provider, platform, product ID, store transaction IDs, RevenueCat event or App User ID when provided, seconds granted, purchase or refund status, purchase and refund timestamps, and related credit balance transactions.

Live interpretation sessions

LiveInterp is designed so spoken text and translated text are processed for the active session only. We do not store the text spoken during a session or the translated text on our servers.

To provide the service, user audio is sent to Speechmatics for speech-to-text transcription. Transcriptions are sent to Google Translate for translation. Translated text is then sent to ElevenLabs to generate spoken audio output.

Operational logs and dashboard data

We keep limited operational logs for debugging and service reliability. These logs can include when a user connects or disconnects from a websocket, the language used to connect, and when a user starts or stops speaking or listening.

We also operate an internal dashboard that shows active room IDs, which language is currently speaking, how many listeners are present, and which languages those listeners are using.

How we use information

We use information to:

  • create, authenticate, and manage user accounts;
  • provide live transcription, translation, and speech output;
  • process purchases, restore purchases, grant credits, and refunds;
  • maintain, debug, secure, and improve the service;
  • respond to support requests and legal obligations.

Third-party processors

We use third-party service providers to operate LiveInterp. These providers process information according to their own privacy policies and data processing terms:

  • Apple App Store and Google Play for mobile in-app purchases;
  • RevenueCat for purchase validation and customer purchase history;
  • Speechmatics for audio transcription;
  • Google Translate for text translation;
  • ElevenLabs for text-to-speech audio generation;
  • Google for Google sign-in.

Retention

We keep account and purchase records for as long as needed to provide the service, manage credits and refunds, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security. Spoken text and translated text from sessions are not stored on our servers.

Your choices and rights

You may contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or export of your personal information. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. We may need to keep certain information when required for legal, security, fraud prevention, billing, or accounting reasons.

Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including hashing passwords with Argon2id. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to limit access to personal information to what is needed to operate and support the service.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our service, practices, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new last updated date.
